One load. Unload. Two loads. Unload. Three loads. Unload…We all know how boring hauling hay can be. That’s why we’re always looking for the fastest way to get it done (especially if there’s rain on the way)! When we’re trying to get hay bales off the field in a hurry, we want two things from our bale carriers: haul as many bales as safely possible and don’t break in the middle of the job.

When it comes to transporting bales as quickly as possible, we have some of the best bale carriers available for small to mid-size farms. With sizes for hauling 8-12 round bales or up to 27 square bales (heavy-duty models only), our bale carriers can get hay off the fields quickly and efficiently. And another benefit for smaller operations? Farmco round bale wagons cost a fraction of the price of more high-tech hay transport equipment, like self-loading trailers.

Helping a neighbor haul hay or switching to a different bale dimension? Farmco bale carriers use adjustable cross members, allowing them to be configured for specific bale types. Simply unbolt the cross members, slide them to the necessary spacing, and retighten. A 5-degree upward bend of the cross members prevents bales from walking off the sides of the bale carrier during pick up or transport. Note that our bale carriers are available with or without the running gear.

PQ Series Low-Profile

Durability and versatility. Those might be the two most important qualities for any piece of farm equipment. The PQ series round bale hauler checks both boxes. Formerly manufactured by the Pequea Machine® company, the PQ series was acquired by Farmco to add a low-profile bale hauler to our hay transport equipment portfolio. However, we’ve retained all the core features of this classic design.

On the durability front, the PQ series is a beast. A 4”x10” main beam is more than enough to support even the largest loads. The 4"x4" cross members are placed in a "diamond" configuration for maximum strength and to hold bales in place. The entire setup rolls on 15×8 wheels placed on cold-rolled axle spindles.

Besides being a well-built piece of equipment, the PQ series is also our most maneuverable round bale hauler, thanks to a 180-degree turning front dolly. This "tricycle" steering configuration allows for a much tighter turning radius and lets the PQ series bale hauler be moved into more confined spots than some of our other bale carrier models. As an added bonus, the low profile of the PQ series means it can be loaded from a 3-point hitch if the need arises.
